OHHS Teacher Erica Schulle Named AWSL’s 2025 Northwest Region High School Advisor of the Year

The Association of Washington Student Leaders (AWSL) recently selected OHHS ASB Advisor and Leadership Teacher Erica Schulle as the 2025 Northwest Region High School Advisor of the Year.

Erica was recognized for her student-centered approach creating spaces where every student not only belongs, but are encouraged to be leaders in shaping the culture of Oak Harbor High School. Examples include building affirmation walls, “Bring Your Own Mug” cocoa spaces, and creating low barrier entry points for involvement.

Director of AWSL James Layman shared, “Erica Schulle is the kind of leader who makes you feel braver just by being in the room. She doesn’t just advise students. She empowers them to see their worth, shape their world, and lead with love.”

In addition to Erica’s influence and leadership at Oak Harbor High School, she is an active contributor at the regional and state level, serving on the Washington Activity Coordinators Association (WACA) Board, serving as staff at AWSL’s Mt. Triumph Leadership Camp, and aligning programming with middle and elementary schools.

Oak Harbor Public Schools is proud to recognize Erica for this achievement and for her demonstration of our district’s core values. Thank you, Erica, for building community through authentic involvement and for elevating student voice. We appreciate you!
