In the 2026-2027 school year, Oak Harbor Public Schools is transitioning to a self-operating model for food service. The change isn't just about food - it's about fueling student health and nutrition with a vision to improve overall operations, customer service, and quality. Updates to the school nutrition program include implementing batched cooking, portioned fresh fruits and vegetables, providing a wider variety of hot vegetable options, and prioritizing meal presentation.
Some of our schools qualify for free school meals! This means that every student in the school will receive free meals, but to maintain free meals, applications for free and reduced lunch must be submitted by families
every year.
Apply in Skyward Family Access.
The schools receiving free school meals for all students for the 2026-2027 school year are:
- Broad View Elementary
- Crescent Harbor Elementary
- Oak Harbor Elementary
- Olympic View Elementary
- HomeConnection
- Hand-in-Hand Early Learning Center
Free and reduced benefit eligibility remains in effect until mid-October of the next school year. Submitting a new application early each fall will prevent any lapse in benefits.
If you qualify for free or reduced-price meals, you are eligible for decreased fees to participate in other school programs. Early application submission also ensures schools qualify for state or federal programs that are determined by free and reduced percentages.
